Agent Provocateur

Joseph Corré, the son of punk fashion queen Vivienne Westwood and the Sex Pistols’ impresario Malcolm McLaren, opened a lingerie store in Soho in 1994. When he and his partner (now ex-wife) Serena Rees couldn’t find the kinds of underthings they wanted to stock, they launched Agent Provocateur. The line quickly became a worldwide phenomenon, and today, femme fatales from Soho to Silver Lake save their pretty pennies for sexy knickers, waspies, bras and corsets. Agent Provocateur also peddles beauty products and swimwear. If you’re feeling particularly frisky, take a peek at their accessories section and shop for “Eyes Wide Shut”-style masks, handcuffs, pasties and crystal whips.

LaPerla

Their fit is marvelous. La Perla designers meticulously fit each pattern to a body rather than a mannequin, so each garment is tailored to be precisely form-fitting, allowing for the materials to better stretch and support a woman’s curves. And who wouldn’t want to support those? Now, in their Spring/Summer 2016 collection, they’re doing more than just offering a great fit: They are redefining lingerie in all forms. In the new Extended Intimacy line, bras, bustiers, nightdresses and swimsuits are all given immense detail and refinement to be showed off anywhere and last beyond the fleeting trends.

Dita Von Teese

This “Burlesque Superheroine” (Vanity Fair) is the performer of choice at high profile events including those for designers such as Marc Jacobs, Christian Louboutin, Louis Vuitton, Chopard, and Cartier, and was the first guest star in history at Paris’ famed Crazy Horse (established in 1951) where she has performed several sold-out runs. Dita also brought burlesque to prime time television in the States when she appeared as a guest star on CSI and performed her classic Martini Glass show in one of their highest rated episodes to date which was billed as “too hot to handle.”
