"In the midst of La Perla's
lively atmosphere, it served some excellent,
northern-style Mexican food. Many of the sauces
were lively with the flavors of roasted chiles,
tomatoes and garlic, and enriched with plenty of
melted Mexican cheese." Dennis R. Getto,

There's more to do at La Perla than be seen with
the beautiful people riding the mechanical red pepper
in the front window. The offerings from south of
the border have some twists, like the spicy red
snapper, that keep the taste buds tested with surprise.
Tacos come filled with everything from chunky
beef, fish and shrimp, to the standard ground
beef. The shrimp taco perfectly oozes garlic and
butter over its flour tortilla, tempting diners
to order a second round of three.
And if one item is all you can eat, then the
burrito is a plate filler. It's too big for one
sitting in most tummies, especially when slapping
a dose of rice and beans on the side.
Despite the raucous, exciting flare of festivity
and action going on at the two indoor dining areas,
a little peace can be found in the corner of the
patio. The tent is equipped with gutters to keep
the puddles shallow, and heaters throw off thousands
of BTUs for total comfort. It's almost like part
of the building, but the see-through walls give
the feeling of being in the great outdoors, which
is where Mexican food should be consumed.
